Eat your veggies! It is something we say often as a parent and I know the preschools and schools try to encourage this as well by having Fruit Breaks or Crunch and Sip breaks. Whenever we do a display in the library about fruit and vegetables, the 'fun' books are very quickly borrowed. The Vegetables in Underwear series by Jared Chapman, the Supertato books by Sue Hendra, the Runaway Pea series by Kjartan Poskitt and the Food Group books by Jory John are extremely popular.
In 2021 it was the International Year of Fruit and Vegetables and I put together an extensive list of books that we used for a library display. See here. It is Eat Your Veggies Day on the 17th June and I have written about it several times. If you put the name of the day or the date in the search bar of my blog, these entries will come up and you will find even more books to read. Still more are on my Pinterest page.
If your school has a Kitchen Garden, these books take on new meaning when you get to use your fruit and vegetables. Our preschool grows veggies.
If you teach preschool the Follow Your Food series of books by Deborah Chancellor are a good resource.
