27th May to 3rd June National Reconciliation

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is an annual event, held from May 27 to June 3, that encourages all Australians to learn about the nation's shared histories, cultures, and achievements.

These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

The National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future and urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.

Here is a factsheet to learn more about the significance and history of the week.

The website also has colouring in sheets, including one for the poster above.

There are a wealth of places to get help with celebrating this week, including picture book resources and teachers notes to accompany them.
