Library Lovers Day will be held on 14 February, the same day as Valentine's Day!
The day honours libraries and the amazing life-changing books they hold within them. Before you ask why libraries need to be celebrated, digest this fact — there was a time when libraries didn’t exist and sometimes listening to many school principals you wonder if a time will come when school libraries cease to exist. Library Lovers Day started in Australia at the State Library of NSW but has now spread worldwide.
Libraries should be hubs for discovery, learning, reading and a place where children explore a world of stories. Libraries everywhere keep communities and families connected.So at school we celebrate it together with Valentines Day by displaying all the books we have about love or with 'love' in their title.
